Welcome to the Africa U.S.A. Virtual Museum. The collection includes Africa U.S.A. souvenirs and artifacts brought back from Africa during Jack Pedersen's excursion to Africa. Please check back often as the collection expands.

History: One of the items brought back from Africa. The item spent 20 years in Germany and was converted to a lamp. The lamp hardware was removed. The item is extremely heavy and solid ebony wood.

History: One of the items brought back from Africa. The item was given to Brigitte Sieverkropp, Jack's sister-in-law and was donated to the museum in 2003.

History: Made in Japan, they each have a tiny Africa USA decal on their backs. They would have been sold in the gift shop. Acquired through auction.


  Item: Ashtray

Material: Glass/Decal/Felt

Year: 1950's

Height: 4 inches

History: This ashtray has a decal featuring Machakas the warrior on a decal applied to the bottom of the ashtray. Acquired through auction.


  Item: Mini Picture Book

History: This picturebook featured pictures from Palm Beach County attractions. Acquired through auction.

History: This mini tea cup features zebra on the cup and Machakas on the saucer. Item was donated by Alma Thompson, sister of Lillian Pedersen.


  Item: Ashtray

Material: Silver plated metal

Year: 1950's

Length: 4 inches

History: This ashtray featured scenes from Africa USA such as the Zambezi waterfall and the Watusi Geyser. Postcards served as the models for the images. Currently not a part of the collection.

History: This Matchbook contains artwork in and out of Africa USA. Acquired through auction.

Year: 1950's

Length: 12 inches

History: This pennant features Machakas the warrior. Acquired though auction.


  Item: Bull Whip

Material: Rope/Wood

Year: 1950's

Length: 18 inches

History: This toy whip has Africa USA burned into the wood handle. Found by David Edris in a box in an old house in Boca Raton.
